What is a TAP card?

A Transit Access Pass or "TAP" card is a reusable plastic card that can hold all of your transit fare products! Each card has a built-in electronic chip that acts like a mini-computer inside your card.  You can load Stored Value (money) and/or a variety of passes that allow you to travel on Metro, Foothill Transit and 22 other transit agencies across the region!  Much easier and faster than cash; just load the type of fare you need and tap it each time you board.
