Raising Cane’s Drive-Through
The City of Glendora Planning Department has received an application requesting the review and approval of a Specific Plan Amendment, Tentative Parcel Map and Design Review to allow the construction of a new Raising Cane’s drive-through to be located within the Glendora Commercial Specific Plan, more commonly referred to as the “Glendora Marketplace.” The new Raising Cane’s is proposed to be located within the Kohl’s parking lot at 1225 S. Lone Hill Ave.
Raising Cane’s proposes to construct a new 3,223 square foot drive-through restaurant which would include indoor and outdoor seating for walk-in customers, as well as duel-lane drive-through for drive-through customers. Sufficient parking and landscaping is proposed to meet city zoning requirements
Currently, the Glendora Marketplace allows a maximum of four drive-through businesses; Wendy’s, In-N-Out, Chik-Fil-A and Starbucks (under construction as of December 2018). A Specific Plan Amendment is required as the Raising Cane’s drive-through would be a fifth drive-through business within the Glendora Marketplace. The necessary land use entitlements also include a Tentative Parcel Map to allow the creation of one new parcel and a Design Review for review of the proposed building. The City has entered into a contract with Linscott, Law and Greenspan (LLG), a traffic consulting firm who is charged with conducting a traffic analysis of the proposed development in compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).
Public Hearings and Schedule
Because this project requires a Specific Plan Amendment and Tentative Parcel Map, public hearings by both the Planning Commission and City Council will be required. Public hearing notices will be mailed to all property owners within 500 feet of the subject property and be published in the San Gabriel Valley Examiner when this item is scheduled for public hearings. No public hearings have yet been scheduled for this project.
