About Human Services / La Fetra

Under the oversight of the Community Services Department, the Human Services Division and the La Fetra Center provide programs, services, and activities to seniors, their families, and the community at large. While the focus of the Center is on mature adults aged 55+, most activities are open to adult residents and non-residents alike. Some programs, such as the Senior Café and Meals on Wheels programs, require a minimum age of 60 years old.

The Human Services Division strives to maximize the quality of life for older adults by providing programs that:

  • Promote dignity and self esteem
  • Foster independence
  • Facilitate social interaction
  • Dispel negative stereotypes about aging
Instructor's Corner
The La Fetra Center is looking for talented and community-oriented individuals interested in teaching their skill. In order to best serve the community, it is the Department’s policy to not have classes that compete against each other. Classes that are the same or are similar to those currently offered will not be considered. Please review the La Fetra Center section beginning on page 35 of the current Recreation Guide, this is a good indication of the types of classes offered, including locations, times, dates, and prices.

For fee based classes and rentals, please email Jennelle Markel: jmarkel@cityofglendora.org or contact her at (626) 914-8235. For non-fee based classes and presentations, please email Alicia Dominguez: adominguez@cityofglendora.org or contact her at (626) 914-8235.
