Community Services Shining Star Award
The Community Services Department would like to recognize Saige Perez, Recreation Aide, as the January/February 2018 Shining Star Award Winner.
Saige Perez began his employment with the City in 2013 where he started as a Recreation Aide, taking on the role of a fun and energetic camp counselor for Camp Cahuilla. Campers were instantly attracted to his exuberant and animated attitude. Supervisors were so impressed with him, that last year he was promoted to Assistant Camp Director where he helped supervise ten staff, twenty counselors in training, and eighty campers per week for eight consecutive weeks.
During the traditional school year Saige fills in where needed either with rental supervision at the American Legion Building, the Crowther Teen & Family Center or helping with various Departmental projects. Most recently he assisted in the final stages of the Liberty House grand opening, setting up the new Pre-School program to ensure its readiness. He assembled book shelves, desks, kitchen sets, chairs, the trike shed, trikes, hung bulletin boards, and assisted in building a new sandbox.
Saige has been an instrumental team member in the Community Services Department and the Recreation Division success. For those reasons we would like to recognize Saige Perez as the Departments Shining Star for January/February 2018.
