02/08/2018 UPDATE: The emergency work is progressing faster than anticipated. All of the water main has been installed. The new water main was disinfected and pressure tested 2-8-18. Water quality samples of the new main are scheduled for next Monday and Tuesday. Tie-in of the new main section to the water system will begin shortly after all the necessary water quality samples have passed the required laboratory tests.
02/01/2018 UPDATE: Work to repair the street is to begin on Monday, February 5th.
On January 16, 2018, the City had a water main burst on Live Oak Avenue, north of Huerta Verde Road. City crews repaired the leak, but a large section of the street was severely damaged. Live Oak Avenue is currently impassible to traffic and is closed with detours at Huerta Verde Road.
This section of water main was identified for replacement in fiscal year 2019-2020. The City has now updated the priority of this repair and identified the water main and street as emergency repairs. Repairs are expected to be completed in approximately 12 weeks during which the section of Live Oak will remain closed for public safety.
