Birds of the San Gabriel Foothills & Mountains
Come and find out more about the great variety of bird biodiversity in our local Foothills and Mountains. Presented by a Conservancy Wildlife Biologist specializing in Bird Studies and Research. Featured will be recent Bird Studies in the Foothills related to the Colby Wildfire Impacts and Recovery.
Also of interest this time of year are migration studies and bird research methods. Learn how to "talk to the birds" with simple sounds and calls to increase your trail walk bird sightings. Lots can be learned from bird banding research. See and ask questions about bird banding techniques demonstrated.
What kinds of plants attract and provide food, shelter, nesting areas for your yards? How many kinds of rare and endangered birds live in our Foothills? How to look for and report or write about/ photograph your own bird watch discoveries.
